ABOUT ME

My name is Alexander Hager. I was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1972, and I have lived here ever since. Art, drawing, and visual design have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. This passion eventually led me to study design and pursue a career in the creative field.

I later went on to study geography at university, but I never completed my degree. Deep down, I knew that I wanted to work creatively and make a living from art and design rather than follow a more conventional academic path.

After working in various positions, I eventually found my way into the video game industry, which became a major part of my professional life. I spent many years working as a Digital Artist and later as a Lead Artist, including working for companies such as Rockstar Games. The game industry gave me the opportunity to combine many of the things I have always been passionate about: drawing, design, technology, storytelling, and creating entire visual worlds.

After several years in the game industry, I decided to take my experience in a new direction and became a teacher in the field of game design. I have been teaching young aspiring artists ever since, helping them develop their skills in Digital Painting and 3D Modeling.

Looking back, my career has taken a somewhat unconventional path, but in many ways, all the different stages have been connected by the same thread: a lifelong fascination with images, creativity, and the process of bringing ideas to life.
